Bush dismissed a question about his popularity during a news conference Monday.
"I don't think you've ever heard me say: 'Gosh, I better change positions because the polls say this or that,'" he told reporters. "I've been here long enough to understand, you cannot make good decisions if you're trying to chase a poll."
I ran out of words long ago for this president. I ran out of respect for this president, I ran out of even the ability to laugh at this president, long long ago.
And, you know, I ran out of hope long ago that he would be responsive to what the American people wanted. I ran out of anger with him, because I got so damn tired of being angry all the time.
Now though? I think I've been propelled back into outrage.
I cannot do a thing about George Bush. And I've never ever thought that I would be a 'pay revenge forward' kind of girl until this moment. We can't kick Bush out of office, but we can sure as hell see to it that the Republicans don't win a damn thing in this election. I've never voted a straight ticket in any election, but this year? I don't care how nice a Republican you are, locally or nationally, I don't care how many times I've agreed with you in the past, if you are a Republican then I am holding you accountable for the actions of this man. I am making sure you do not get my vote no matter how hard you beg. You have stood by the wrong asshole, and if it gives me only a tiny bit of satisfaction to vote for your democratic opponents just on principle, then it will be well worth it after the despair, frustration, and hopelessness that have been my daily companions these last six years.
